Valentine's Day

Greetings!

Well, I must say my own Valentine's was met with a modicum of quietude, especially since nary a soul deigned to visit my show at the Arts Center. At least I managed to catch up on a few books, though. One, a fascinating read, called 'The Sociopath Next Door', by Dr. Martha Stout (I suppose not the lightest read for such a Romantic day...) and a travel book called 'eat, pray, love', by Elizabeth Gilbert. This latter book was actually loaned to my girlfriend from a dear friend of hers, and I was hesitant to pick it up, given the word 'pray', but overall it is quite an engaging travelogue, replete with many humorous insights and travails about her trip overseas. And as for the former, well, that is quite illuminating in itself, and it speaks volumes about our present government, an administration rife with neocon sociopaths. More on that rant in an imminent blog.

So there I was, wandering aimlessly through the rooms of my art show, wondering when in hell anyone was going to stop by, to witness my creations, to have someone to chat with--about anything!--but it was not to be. So I stood there in the kitchen, reading my books, uncorking a relatively good Cabernet (Concho Y Toro's 'Xplorador) and one cannot help but enjoy a nice hearty Chilean red. A red whilst reading. How comforting!

So despite the lack of human contact, I managed to while the way the hours enjoying these tomes, consuming most of the wine (my family will readily attest to the fact that I am not a wine expert but a wino!) and then it was time to go, back to my old house on Fiske Hill, and cook a delightful meal for my Beloved Julie.

Please feel free to post me any comments about your own Valentine's Day as I am always appreciative of a fine missive sent my way. For now, may your day be met with calm and comfort, and look for my next posting, a rant about the horror unfolding before our very eyes perpetrated by our own government.

Greetings All!

Thanks for all who deigned to show up for my show at the Jacob Edwards Library in Southbridge, and it was a success! I sold four paintings and a chair, so it was great to showcase my work at this fine institution. I have also sold one painting to benefit the artsforaidssake.org in Worcester so that, too, was nice!

I will be having another show in early February, at the Arts Center in Southbridge, so please do come back soon to see when it will be up and running.

Also, I am back to modeling again, albeit, sparingly, but please do check out this site, Sevengaits, as it contains a wealth of info pertaining to the local art scene. A New Art Show!

Hello, Everyone!

I would just like to say that I am having a brand-new art show! It will be located at the Jacob Edwards Library in Southbridge, MA, and the show runs from October 1st, through the 30th. The Opening Reception is this coming Thursday, October 11th, from 6:30-8pm. So please do try and attend, as there will be a lot of art work to view.

In other news, I have been painting a bit, creating a few 'wine series' canvases, so soon I will post them on my website. If you deign to attend my showing, I will also have a few 'wine' paintings on sale as well.

Well, that's it for now! Short 'n sweet, as they say. Oh, I have completed another children's book, and I am still waiting to hear back from sundry literary agents, so perhaps I will have some good news when next I post.

Has it really been this long?

My word, how time does indeed fly! It has been a few months since I last composed a note or two so without further delay, I shall attempt to write something of wit. Notice I said 'attempt'.

So, summer has come and gone and March (my last posting!) is close by. Soon, piles of that hideous white stuff will build and drift, causing the usual brumal headaches. I really need to acquire a lot of firewood-now! Anybody out there know where I can possibly procure a plethora of seasoned wood in short order? Last year my folks allowed me to remove vast amounts of wood from their yard. But it wasn't enough. It seems our Vermont Casting wood stove has an insatiable appetite for trees, and as such did our stock dwindle rather rapidly. But I must say, the heat generated from our stove certainly kept our tiny dwelling quite toasty! Now to acquire many more cords.

As for any other news, I have once again deigned to model, right here in my neck of the woods. Check out this site, www.sevengaits.com, and there will you find an interesting array of things going on, from a gallery, to artists' lofts, to bakeries, music halls and more! So far the modeling has been relegated to the resident artists, but hopefully soon the hordes will descend and frequent this fine establishment.

My art...well, as witnessed by my web site, has been a tad slow with forthcoming work. Of late I have been working on my writing, having just finished a few children's books, and working on a slightly more ribald tale, one perhaps destined for erotica of some fashion. We shall see. Oh, do check out this fantastic site, something all aspiring authors should keep in their bookmarks: www.agentquery.com. There, you will find a veritable treasure trove of info to help you along your journey to become published, that, and avoiding the pitfalls inherent in such an endeavor. I highly recommend this site!

School starts soon, so the two boys will be ensconced in academia once again, thus allowing me to find suitable employment. Ah, the life of a was trel! Must find something to refill our vacant coffers.
